This position is based in San Francisco, CA, but we will consider candidates in the following locations:  Chicago, IL, Raleigh, NC, Richmond, VA or Remote.

Responsibilities

Practice Fusion is hiring a talented quality engineer, passionate about creating life-saving technology for doctors and patients. Our cloud-based EHR, used by tens of thousands of health providers every day, is an ambitious Services Oriented Architecture hosted in AWS, utilizing WebApi and WCF with a combination of ASP.NET and ASP.NET Core and an Ember JS front end.  You will take on the challenge of ensuring quality as we deliver vital, reliable product features to health-care providers.

 

Main duties:

  • Architect and implement robust automated tests for SOAP/REST web services using a .NET-based framework
  • Provide quality-oriented technical and thought leadership throughout the SDLC, including requirements analysis, story grooming, and test planning
  • Perform exploratory, functional, and regression testing during feature development (black, grey, and white box)
  • Review test code and provide feedback to improve both test quality and efficiency
  • Collaborate with customer-facing support teams to analyze and drive resolution of defects
  • Measure, analyze, and develop solutions to improve product quality through improved quality engineering practices
  • Mentor other members of the team through collaboration and knowledge sharing

Qualifications

Academic and Professional Qualifications:

  • BSCS or related discipline preferred, equivalent experience accepted

Experience:

  • 8+ years testing/quality engineering/SDET experience
  • 5+ years API/web service testing (WebApi, WCF, REST)
  • 5+ years writing product or test code in C#, Java, or similar object-oriented language
  • 2+ years’ experience with two or more of the following
    • Relational database testing
    • Version control/continuous integration
    • Cloud development/testing (AWS, Azure, etc.)
    • Messaging systems (AWS SQS, ActiveMQ, etc.)
    • Javascript testing or development

Travel Requirements:

  • Very little or no travel is required in this role.

Working Arrangements:

  • Standard office environment
